Tasmania first offence .168

Postby browninj » July 5th, 2014, 8:57 am

I registered .168 on the breathalyser last night in Tasmania. I had been following the 'one drink an hour' rule but had consumed 6 beers in all, and had stopped drinking 1 hour before driving. My license is suspended and I have been ordered to appear in court in 1 month. In 15 years of driving (on a full license) this is my first ever offence (of any kind; I've no criminal record). I have been recently having a lot of difficulties coping at work (I'm in retail management) and am seeing a counsellor to help resolve the issues (which my employer is aware of). I'm aware of the seriousness of this offence; however, would any of my circumstances assist me in receiving leniency?
