Seven drink drivers were caught within three hours during a police operation in Belconnen this morning.

ACT Policing said Belconnen Patrol members conducted 60 random breath tests at Emu Bank between 1am and 4.30am.

The highest reading recorded was from a suspended driver, who returned a reading of 0.149.

A 26-year-old Braddon man who had previously been disqualified from driving until February 2014 was one of four drivers issued with immediate suspension notices.

He returned an alcohol content reading of 0.130 and was taken to the ACT Watch House, where he will be charged with drink-driving and driving while disqualified.

Last week, ACT Policing caught 30 drink drivers throughout Canberra, eight of whom had a zero restriction on their licence.

This included a 26-year-old Evatt man who returned an alcohol content reading of 0.187 and a 36-year-old Fraser man who was caught drink-driving twice in the one night.

ACT Policing will continue to target drink driving until the end of the year.
