QLD Licence RBT in NSW

Postby Dannyk » October 8th, 2013, 5:15 pm

Hi There
I recently blew 0.07 in an RBT in NSW. This is my 1st drink driving charge & it was the morning after. I honestly thought i was ok. I have 7 demerit points on my QLD licence.

I live and work in QLD. I drive every day for my job and will lose my job if i lose my licence. Will my 3 to 6 month suspension be for all states or just NSW?

Thank you so much in advance (im stressing big time)

Dear Dannyk,

Assuming that you have a QLD licence, the disqualification period would be applied to both states, as the state you incurred the disqualification would pass on the information to the state in which your licence is held.

From your post, it sounds to me like your matter is still ongoing. If that is the case, there is a possibility for the Magistrate in NSW to issue a non-conviction order. This would depend on your individual circumstances. If you would like to contact me on 02 9261 4555 I would be able to discuss the matter further with you.
