Man charged after accident involving his 4 yo son

Postby ddforum » August 22nd, 2011, 8:34 am

A man driving his four-year-old son and wife has been charged with drink-driving after a head-on collision in the NSW Blue Mountains.

The 27-year-old man was driving his Ford on the Great Western Highway at Warrimoo with his wife and son when he crossed the median strip and collided with a Mazda travelling in the opposite direction.

The Ford hit a concrete guard rail before stopping on the wrong side of the road, police said.

The family escaped injury but a 38-year-old man driving the Mazda was taken to Westmead Hospital with head injuries.

The Ford driver, from Wentworthville, was charged with mid-range drink-driving and his licence was suspended on the spot.

He was bailed to appear before Penrith Local Court on September 12.
