What is the position of the law in relation to having alchohol merely open in a car?

It is illegal in NSW to consume alcohol while driving (http://bit.ly/t1gUTz). There is no specific law against an open bottle per se, although if you are driving and there is an open bottle within reach you certainly may be charged.
