PCYC courses and adjournments

Postby PepperDog » July 1st, 2014, 9:01 am

Hi guys,

Last week I made the mistake of drink driving. I was caught drink driving with a BAC of 0.087.
This is my first offence in 14 years of driving.
I have since enrolled myself into the PCYC Traffic Offenders Intervention Course but I will only be 2 weeks into the 6 week course before my court appearance.

Would it be best to request an adjourment or to just get sentenced ?
Also, what legal fees would I be looking at supposing I get legal representation.

Cheers

Hi PepperDog,

You (or your legal representative) should attend the first mention and have the matter adjourned and listed for sentence after the completion of the Traffic Offenders Program. A Magistrate can only take into account in sentencing the completion of the program.

If you would like to contact me on 02 9261 4555 I would be able to speak to you further about the matter and also give you an idea of costs for legal representation.
