A PCA charge allows the Police to charge a person with drink driving as long as their reading is over the "prescribed concentration of alcohol." A DUI charge requires the police to prove you were actually under the influence of alcohol when you were driving. For this reason, it is generally more common for Police to charge for PCA, as it is easier to scientifically measure and prove.
PCA and DUI charges are considered serious driving offences in NSW and as such, if convicted of either of these charges, you will incur a disqualification period that may affect your job prospects in certain fields.
I would be happy to speak to you over the phone on (02) 9261 4555 about your individual circumstances if you like.
