2nd DUI WA

Postby Anon5 » September 10th, 2013, 12:23 am

I am very embarrassed and upset with myself as I am a mother of 3, just come off breastfeeding and decided to go to a friends Tupperware party. Having had a couple of wines I obviously badly misjudged how many I had (zero would have been the right amount) and got pulled over for a random breathe test blowing .078. Being that this is a higher end reading and I have had a DUI 17 Yrs ago (in July 1996) will this be treated as a 1st or 2nd offense? What do you think the penalty will be and do you think I should represent myself at the court hearing (as the policeman suggested)?
I am a good mum and I'm so upset with myself for being so stupid and jeopardising my kids and husband and our family life in general.
My husband has his own business and I am the sole carer of our 3 kids so taking them to and from school will prove to be very difficult for him and I don't want our family to suffer or our employees because my husband will be having to do the school runs and may well loose jobs because of it. If I do loose my license do you think I would qualify for an extraordinary license for the school runs only so that my husband can still run his business.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards
