Hi there, I was intercepted and blew 0.052 which is 2 milligrams over the legal limit for open licence drivers. What can I expect?

Sure.

You have queried a Queensland question on a New South Wales based site, fortunately we are in a position to be able to answer your question.

There is a mandatory minimum disqualification period of one month. If this is your first drink driving offence, it is possible you will receive the minimum period of disqualification. Along with the disqualification period, a fine in the vicinity of $300-$500 would be imposed. It is also possible to argue for the Magistrates to not record a conviction.

Subject to certain criteria, you may also be eligible to apply for a restricted (work) licence which allows you to drive during the disqualification period for work purposes.
